UNO 25 Highlights Influence of Graduates Leading Respected Organizations in GNO

METAIRIE—(Jan. 16, 2020)—MSB Consulting Engineers is proud to announce it has been named to the University of New Orleans’ 2020 class of the UNO 25, an initiative recognizing 25 high-impact businesses that are owned or led by University of New Orleans alumni. More than half of UNO’s 75,000 alumni, many of whom are innovators and leaders in their fields, live in the Greater New Orleans region.

“The 2020 class of UNO 25 highlights the varied and widespread influence of graduates of the University of New Orleans,” said President John Nicklow. “Our alumni lead iconic New Orleans brands and respected organizations throughout the region in areas including engineering, health care, education, transportation, hospitality, accounting, banking, construction, technology, human resources, marketing and public relations. In many different ways, they help stimulate economic growth and contribute to an enhanced quality of life for those in their communities,” he added.

MSB President Leo Holzenthal Jr., P.E., who is a Registered Professional Engineer in more than 20 states, is an adjunct professor and graduate of UNO’s College of Engineering. In 2015, he received the James M. Todd Technological Accomplishment Award from the Louisiana Engineering Society.

“We are honored to be named to the UNO 25 and salute the many accomplished alumni who work to achieve success, impact the local economy, and showcase the pride and innovation found at UNO and throughout Louisiana,” Holzenthal said.

MSB has actively participated for many years on both the College of Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering industry advisory boards. In 2009, the company was awarded the University of New Orleans’ College of Engineering John Noll Crisp Award for Technical Excellence for its role as Lead Consulting Engineer and Project Manager for the Louisiana Region One Interoperable Communications System.

The university solicited nominations and applications for the UNO 25 earlier in the year, and a selection committee chaired by President Nicklow chose the 25 recipients of the honor. The honorees will be celebrated during an awards luncheon at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans on Jan. 16, 2020.
