Events Support United Way, Special Olympics, STEM education, Hurricane Harvey Relief

Metairie, La.—December 18, 2017—From rappelling down a building and participating in SWAT training to cooking up gumbo to lacing up their bowling shoes, MSB Consulting Engineers employees pitched in for several charitable initiatives and a donation drive supporting the special needs community, United Way, Hurricane Harvey relief, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education programs.

MSB competed for the second year in the St. Charles Battle for the Paddle Jambalaya and Gumbo Cook-off Event benefiting United Way of St. Charles. The cook-off featured more than 20 teams serving up their secret recipes for gumbo and jambalaya for community members at Dufresne Community Center.

MSB team members also hit the lanes to bring home a First Place win during Core Element’s 7th-annual Strike for STEM fundraiser at MidCity Rock N’ Bowl in New Orleans. The New Orleans engineering consultancy offered a company match for employee donations to the American Red Cross as part of the agency’s relief drive after Hurricane Harvey devastated areas of Houston.

In December, MSB engineers and support staff put together a team for a special operation, NOLA Over the Edge: SWAT Edition, to benefit Special Olympics of Louisiana.
