MSB Celebrates Community at the 2025 Battle for the Paddle
MSB Consulting Engineers was proud to compete for the sixth year in the 2025 Annual Battle for the Paddle Cook-off benefiting the United Way of St. Charles Parish. Now in its 22nd year, Battle for the Paddle continues to bring together family and industry teams from across the region to showcase their best recipes in various categories. The highly anticipated event has become a tradition that celebrates Louisiana’s rich food culture while raising awareness and resources for programs that support local families.

This year, MSB participated in the gumbo category, where the team’s efforts earned recognition with the Third Place People’s Choice award. The friendly competition provided a fun opportunity for MSB employees to connect with colleagues, neighbors, and community partners; all while supporting the United Way’s mission of mobilizing the community in the areas of heath, income, and education.
“Community involvement is central to who we are at MSB. Battle for the Paddle is always a meaningful way to serve our community and strengthen our relationships within it,” said MSB President and CEO Leo L. Holzenthal, Jr., P.E., “Earning a People’s Choice award reflects the dedication and excellence our team brings to everything we do.”

MSB’s commitment to community is evident in both charitable initiatives and youth engagement. From our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and Holiday Giving Tree to supporting the next generation through STEM programs like FIRST Robotics and the Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair. Each year during Engineers Week, we also partner with Greater New Orleans schools to lead hands-on STEM activities and presentations that inspire students to pursue careers in engineering. MSB employees embody Community as a key part of our company culture.
