MSB Special Teams Score Big With A Simultaneous Shift on NCAA Opening Weekend
The start of football season is always a busy time of year for the MSB project teams that design and build Wi-Fi, DAS, and other connectivity solutions for large venues. Labor Day Weekend was no exception and in fact it set a new bar for the Wi-Fi team as we supported three season opening NCAA football games Saturday August 31st, with MSB Engineers on site testing and monitoring network performance.
Aflac Kickoff | Georgia vs Clemson | Atlanta, GA
At Mercedes-Benz Stadium, our team led the way onsite at one of the highest profile games of opening weekend, the Aflac kickoff, with a 12:00pm ET start. Over two years of planning along with months of installation and integration work led to a successful event for our clients at AMB Sports & Entertainment. Next week, the Atlanta Falcons will kickoff their 2024 regular season vs the Pittsburg Steelers. MSB will again be in attendance to support our network.
UTK vs. Chattanooga | Neyland Stadium | Knoxville, TN
Roughly 150 miles to the North, our second team was at Neyland Stadium, where the hometown Volunteers cruised to an easy victory over Chattanooga, with kick-off at 12:45pm ET. Although the original network deployment was completed in 2023, renovations to the stadium continued through the final weeks of the summer and introduced new coverage requirements for fans and media members. MSB was there throughout the renovation project to ensure consistency in our client’s high density Wi-Fi network.
UNL vs. UTEP | Memorial Stadium | Lincoln, NE
Over in Lincoln, Nebraska, our third team was onsite as Memorial Stadium, home to the Huskers, opened their season at 2:30pm CT with a win AND a new Wi-Fi network. In parallel to the stadium’s ongoing multi-million dollar renovation plan, MSB is deploying our network in a phased approach. This day, the fans, press, and UNL IT Operations experienced Wi-Fi coverage in all concourses, suites, back of house areas, and entry gates. UNL will host Colorado next week with MSB onsite to support the client team and stadium operations. The design and build phases of the seating bowl are next up and MSB will begin coordination during the 2024 football season.
Additionally for the team onsite in Lincoln, the UNL Bob Devaney Center hosted multiple volleyball matches on Friday and Saturday. MSB provided both onsite and remote support for those events around the season opening football game at Memorial. In total MSB has deployed Wi-Fi at (8) eight named Athletics venues as part of our UNL project.
